For more than 60 years, Arizona’s hospitals have put their trust in the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) as an advocate and representative. As dedicated health care professionals act as advocates for a patients’ health, AzHHA serves as a powerful advocate for issues that impact the quality and accessibility of health care in Arizona. Their membership consists of hospitals, health systems, and affiliated health care organizations that are all aiming for the same goal: improved quality and accessibility of health care in the state of Arizona. AzHHA addresses complex health care issues facing Arizona’s hospitals, patients, and health systems through shared values of service, excellence, results and integrity.

With a mission to provide leadership on issues affecting the delivery, quality, accessibility and cost effectiveness of healthcare, AzHHA envisions a society of healthy individuals and provides the leadership essential to attain this goal. An example of this leadership is their initiative named “Stop the Spread”, a collaboration with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), county public health departments, and other associations created to prepare the Arizona public for the flu season and the H1N1 virus. The campaign aims to educate the public about the H1N1 Flu pandemic, how it differs from seasonal flu, and the impact of the viruses. The “Stop the Spread” website has sections for each county of Arizona, allowing for easy navigation to educational resources and information. The campaign is but one example of AzHHA’s dedication to achieving a society of healthy individuals.

You can find the “Stop the Spread” website here, and the AzHHA website here.
