With a purpose in promoting the health and welfare of the public, the George Hospital Association stands as the leading advocate for all Georgia hospitals and health care systems.  Founded in 1929, GHA continues to serve 170 hospitals in Georgia, as well as all of its member health systems and individuals in administrative and decision-making positions within those systems.  Through the development of better hospital care, GHA fights for all of Georgia’s citizens to receive improved institutional health care services and patient care.  GHA educates and provides information on issues including access to health care, affordability, clinical care updates, and hospital management.  Advocating through representation to Congress and General Assembly and before federal and state regulatory agencies, GHA continues to fight for the issues of all the hospitals in the state of Georgia.
Included in their legislative advocacy agenda are issues involving Medicaid, Disproportionate Share Hospital payments, behavioral health, the uninsured, trauma-care, and many more.  GHA has been focusing their mission on enabling all hospitals to better serve their patients, enhancing the healthcare delivery system in the 21st century, and providing appropriate infrastructure, optimal allocation of resources, and other support to help their members.
GHA includes some of the most talented and dedicated leaders of our nation whose inspiration is to serve others.  They follow the highest ethical standards, ensuring that honesty and reliability serve as their foundation.  GHA continues to be a leader, influencing others to do what is best for patients and communities and promoting a culture that enables people to grow and learn from each other by embracing what they bring to the table.  Working together to promote efficient use of limited resources, GHA will continue to strive for their mission “to advance the health of individuals and communities by serving as the leading advocate for all Georgia hospitals and health care systems.”
