Jefferson University Hospitals boast a variety of medical services. For example, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience has one of the nation’s busiest neurosurgery programs. At the hospital, neurosurgeons treat vascular brain disease, brain tumors, epilepsy spinal cord injuries, spinal disease and pain. Additionally, they offer neurology programs in areas such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, headache and stroke. The Methodist Hospital is a community hospital with an academic medical center. It has a historial relationship to the Methodist Church, and focuses on providing excellent patient care and providing quality clinical settings and role models for health professional students. Jefferson Voorhees, located in New Jersey, is a state-of-the-art medical facility that provides advanced medicine and superior care. Altogether, Jefferson University Hospitals are responsible for 957 beds, 47,191 admissions, 461,567 outpatient visits, and 106,350 emergency room visits. They also employ over 5,000 full time employees and 2,456 nurses. Jefferson University Hospitals’ goal is to improve the health of the communities they serve — they sure are doing a good job at it.
