The 5 Centers of Excellence provide many treatment options for patients with simple and complex health conditions. Each of the Centers are also teaching centers responsible for research as well as education and training of new physicians here are a few of those Centers:
Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute is a regional referral center that provides a comprehensive and effective approach to the diagnosis and treatment of simple and coronary and vascular conditions. This Center of Excellence integrates the Lenox Hill Hospital’s specialists in cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular surgery to provide expertise and experience to its patients, researchers, and physicians.
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital is recognized nationwide for their expertise in the treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions, such as disorders of the knees, hips, spine, feet, ankles, shoulders, elbows and hands. They boast minimally invasive techniques in orthopedic surgery, a factor in their being named as one of the top 100 teaching hospitals with an Orthopedic Residency Program. Lenox Hill Hospital also hosts the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma, the first center in the nation dedicated to the study of sports medicine.
The Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute was establed in 1869, and is internationally recognized for its accomplishments in ophthalmology, otolaryngology and plastic surgery. MEETI provides thousands of patients a year with the highest quality treatments available in its state-of-the-art surgery facilities. They also have the Cochlear Implant Center and the Lenox Hill Hospital Sleep Disorder Center.
